I would choose the least “royal” like look for a morning at Buckingham Palace. But the embroidery trend is so huge right now…I couldn’t resist.

THE LOOK | embroidered top (zara, similar here), field jacket, leather pants c/o (similar here), grey pumps, celine sunglasses (similar)
One of my coworkers wore this top in the office one day, and it looked SO cute on her. I don’t know why I automatically assumed it was from Zara. But sure enough, I found it on the site and ordered it. Luckily, it came just in time for my London trip (along with the amazing gingham jacket I wore to Tower Bridge).
Anyway, I really am loving everything about the embroidery trend.
Are you loving it as much as I am? Right now, Zara is absolutely killing that area, and I can’t stop making purchases. The design details alone could be my reason why I’m so obsessed with the whole embroidery trend. The phrase “it’s all in the details” really holds true when it comes to these types of pieces. And I love how versatile they are! The floral pattern is great for spring and the ruffle details add a nice feminine touch to the top. I can 100% picture myself wearing this top with some destroyed jeans and flats, but for Buckingham Palace, I *had* to get a little fancy;)
I paired my embroidered top with a pair of leather pants and heels, but since it was pretty chilly, I threw on my downtown field jacket – a piece I’ve completely ignored over the years. Why? Well: 1. I bought this when I was a junior in college and it’s an XXS. 2. IT’S AN XXS. Was I even an XXS in college? I mean, obviously, I squeezed myself into it for the day, but I actually felt like the Hulk when I put it on for the first time in years.
It’s okay, you have permission to laugh.
This was actually our second morning in London. After forcing ourselves to stay awake the night before to avoid jetlag (seriously, now I know why they use sleep deprivation as a form of torture), it was quite easy to get up at 6AM. I’m SO happy we headed to Buckingham Palace first because around 9AM it was so crowded and barricades were being set up. I’m assuming that means someone important was coming. But we had no time to waste because we had things to get done. Sorry, Lizzie (or whoever happened to be showing up that day), ain’t nobody got time for that.

omg this top is literally what folklore dreams are made of. It’s SO GORGEOUS! My boyfriend is Russian and I’ve totally been on this trend lately of loving pieces that have Eastern European influence – reminiscent of the beautiful jewel tons, peasant blouses, and embroidery. LOVE!
