I couldn’t wait for Spring weather to get here to make some changes. But thanks to one of the coolest NYC hair salons, it was pretty easy to get a head start on the changes.
THE LOOK | camel coat (other colors here), black sweater (mens version here, size down), black denim, statement booties
I remember one of my first posts with my new blonde locks. I was seriously obsessed with how it came out and loved the change. Fast-forward to a few months later, and I was just kind of over it. Plus, I probably didn’t take care of it the way I should have, so it was turning into a brassy-blonde.
Basically, I was looking for NYC hair salons to go, but didn’t know where to begin or what I even wanted to do with my hair.
Enter O&M NYC.
Much like I got lucky with the fashion gods (here and here), I also got lucky with the NYC hair salons gods: O&M NYC came to my rescue.
I made my way from the Upper East Side to Meatpacking on a Saturday morning, feeling a bit nervous (I had ZERO reason to be). When I walked in around 11AM, the music was already bumping at O&M NYC, the stylists were already at work, and I was immediately offered a mint and lemon infused water. 1. I already loved the vibe and 2. Excellent customer service.
I met with my stylist, Janelle, who also happens to be the Global Creative Director and Owner of O&M NYC. Um, talk about ridiculous experience, right?! She was SO down to Earth and was immediately on the same page with me about getting the blonde out of my hair. She knew exactly what she wanted to do: A nice gloss to get the blonde out, shine my hair and get back to my dark roots.
And so the process began…
Surprisingly, the process wasn’t long at all. I met with Stephanie and she began washing my hair with a great detox shampoo to get rid of all the build up. I actually took some of it home with me and I’m SO excited to use it! She put the gloss in my hair and set me up on a 20 minute timer. In that time, Stephanie did a fun tarot card reading about my career and before we knew it, it was time to get washed again!
Stephanie used an amazing protein mask (another product I went home with) to help strengthen my hair and then used a moisturizing conditioner. Oh, and I can’t forget the great scalp massage complete with a hot towel;) That was nice.
And reveal time…
As Stephanie and Janelle worked on blowing out/curling my hair, I could already tell that I would love it. Janelle trimmed off the dead ends and gave me a bit more of a blunt cut as opposed to wispy layers. It was EVERYTHING I wanted and more. I’m obsessed with my darker, cleaner locks and am so excited to be able to call O&M NYC my new favorite salon!

Your hair is stunning, but then again, it always seems to look that way! 😉
Loving the new camel coat! Oh gosh, you keep recommending the best camel coats! Ha! That Gap one you recommended awhile back… I got it, and at first I didn’t like it, but now i love it! I’m in the market for a clean all-purpose white blouse, one that goes with EVERYTHING. Not too formal but not too casual – if you have ideas or future blog post idea, ha! ha!
Enjoy the new hair, Dana!!
