Honestly, is there ANYTHING better than that perfect Fall outfit? I think not.
When I think about ideal Fall weather, my mind immediately goes to Vermont. So naturally, Allie and I planned a trip to the Green Mountain State last weekend. Long story short, IT WAS PERFECT.
I knew I had to fit in perfectly with the Fall weather, so my first instinct was to go back to my prep roots. If you’ve followed my blog since the beginning, you know I went through an EXTREME prep phase. Not sure if that was my finest way of showing versatile style, but it got me thinking, “can one be preppy without defining themselves as a prep?”
I wouldn’t necessarily describe myself as preppy anymore, but I definitely love incorporating preppy elements into my looks occasionally. Whether it’s a collared shirt underneath a sweater or a black watch plaid blazer…or a good pair of duck boots.
When we were going to Vermont, I knew this would be a perfect opportunity to pull out my adorable Sperry boots. I’ve always loved duck boots, so I loved how these came in super pretty blush color. It’s subtle enough that it’s basically a neutral, so I wore them more than once during our time in Vermont.
These boots were honestly perfect for a day on the farm. We got up pretty early one morning, and wandered around our Airbnb’s property. Obviously we were in search of the animals (one of the main reason why we stayed here), and were so excited to see them. The owners of the farm asked if we wanted to feed them…and we obviously said yes. It was this city girl’s first time doing ANYTHING like that, so I had so much fun feeding the animals, and running away from them (LOL).
Not only do I love the color of these boots, but I also love that they keep my feet extra warm thanks to the Thinsulate inside the shoe. Right before we headed back to the city, we stopped in town one more time. It was early, so not many people were around, but a few stores were open. We picked up apple cider donuts, fresh fudge, and saltwater taffy. As soon as we got out of the car, it started flurrying! I was definitely happy I had my Sperry boots on while we also stopped to take some photos and walk from store to store. Safe to say my feet were very happy.
I think both of these outfits help add a little preppy element, while keeping other pieces pretty simple!
