Fall Favorites: Sleeveless Outerwear

I’ve come to realize I have a very addictive personality.

If I eat something I love, I want it every day for the next few weeks. If I find a show I like, I’ll obsess over watching it. If I hear a catchy song, I put it on repeat until I know the words to the whole thing. And if I wear something that looks good on me, I want it in every color, pattern, etc. (Ahem, like these boots and notice anything on my Instagram?)

Which leads me to my next point…sleeveless outerwear.

Now before you start thinking, “What the hell is sleeveless outerwear? Isn’t outerwear a jacket or coat? Isn’t sleeveless outerwear just a vest? Is this girl out of her mind?”, let me clear things up;)

When I think of a vest, I think of this or this or this. They’re more of a casual piece. Now, I’m not knocking vests off their pedestal by any means, I still love a good vest. In fact, during my junior and senior years of college, I went a little vest crazy and they were basically all I wore (even in blog posts: here, here and here).

I think my obsession started with Taylor from Little Blonde Book – she wears a ton of vests and they just looked great on her. Then, I found this beauty from the Thakoon for DesignNation collaboration and it’s been a downward spiral since 😉 I can’t get enough of them!

I want them in different colors, textures, and lengths. I want to wear them with dresses, skirts, pants, sweaters, turtlenecks, t-shirts, booties, boots, pumps, and pretty much everything in my closet. And if we want to get all practical, then we can even say they add a little extra warmth in the winter. But for right now, I want them all purely for styling reasons. Come on, you can’t say that they aren’t a cool fashion statement.

What are your thoughts on sleeveless outerwear? Love it or think I’m crazy?
