MY VERY NEW YORK CITY CHRISTMAS

When I stepped through the gate at the Lotte New York Palace, I knew I found a (not-so) hidden gem. It was just after 9am on a Tuesday morning, and I had felt like I stepped away from the hustle and bustle of the morning commute. It was almost magical. Then, I looked up and was staring at this beautiful building with an enormous Christmas tree basically smacking me in the face.

And I thought to myself, “Now this is a New Yorker’s Christmas.”

Obviously, I knew what I was getting myself into when I chose to shoot at this location, so I knew I needed to look my best.

This Kate Spade number is such a perfect dress for different holiday occasions. And the best part? You can eat and drink all you want and no one will see your food baby 😉 I love the tie bow detail of this dress…it’s very Blair Waldorf — how fitting for this location, no? In person, the dress is a little more pink than photographed, which adds a great element of femininity to your look!

I chose to wear simple back pumps with the dress, but I could definitely see myself wearing some fun high-heeled booties too in order to switch things up a bit. This helps me step out of a “traditional” comfort zone.

In order to get more into the holiday spirit, I knew I wanted to do a little shoot with my good friend Allie (just a little background on our friendship: We lived and breathed Kate Spade when we worked there together in college – luckily she just moved to New York!).

Basically we spent the morning drinking hot chocolate and throwing presents at each other 😉 It was a great day.

Scroll down a little to see something that will hopefully make YOUR day!

And now for the “this is SO worth reading” part: Allie and I are SO thankful for the ones who come to our blogs every day, that we want to give back to YOU! Check out Instagram in a little for a fun giveaway!
