Word For The New Year 2024

Word For the new year

“A word can’t be broken.  It serves as a reminder, a filter. It’s who you want to be instead of what you regret.”

As we step into another year, I’ve already done my reflecting on a last 365 days. There were a lot of good. There was also some bad. But overall, it was a really good year, and I’m so thankful for that. So when it came time to think about my “word” for the new year (2023 here, 2021 here, 2020 here), there was one that came to mind.

Word For The New Year 2024

I’m really not big on new year resolutions. I think they’re a way to set yourself up for failure, and that’s just not the energy I’m looking to bring in my life. But when you think about words…that’s easy. The word we can silently tell ourselves when we need it in a moment. The word that can be applied to every aspect of our life. The word that can help you achieve what you want to.

So what is my word for the new year?

For 2024, mine is… GROW. I picked this for a lot of reasons, but it was actually the first one that came to mind. Growth can take on so many different meanings, and that’s why it resonated with me. When I sat down to write this post, my mind was flooded with thoughts and how I can intertwine it in my life every single day.

Grow as an individual

Grow as a girlfriend

Grow as a friend

Grow in my career

Grow on social media (follow me on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest)

While I’m not big on resolutions and goals, I do think having a “fresh start” is good for your mentality. Picking a word to guide you through the year is a great way to stay focused, or even a way to bring yourself back into focus if you feel a little off track.

Do you pick a word to stick with in the new year?
