Why Your Wardrobe Shouldn’t Have To Cost You

Trust me, I’m ALL about making good investments for your wardrobe. But sometimes, you really don’t have to break the bank.

Shopping is CLEARLY one of my favorite things to do. I have no problem spending my money (I’m REALLY trying to be smarter about this LOL). I’ll be the first one to say that you should INVEST in your wardrobe. But that doesn’t mean that you have to spend all of your money on STUFF (*an ode to Meryl Streep’s iconic monologue*).

Now that I’m in a smaller space in my studio apartment, I’m really looking to streamline my closet, but also not break the bank. Because, hello, rent needs to be paid. That doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be able to shop and curate a closet that I want. I’ve been lucky enough to partner with Primark over the last few months for an Instagram campaign (this post isn’t sponsored, but my sponsorship sparked the idea for this blog post). When I think of Primark, I think of both trendy and basic pieces that make me re-think my wardrobe. Sure, I want classic, basic, staple pieces that are around for YEARS, but I also want to participate in trends or buy things that I simply want in my closet for a few seasons.

I have some go to stores that I’m constantly browsing to pick up “trendier” pieces: H&M and Primark. These are two good stores that you can find both basic and trendy pieces without breaking the bank. Of course, since their stuff have been SO good, I’ve been spending a little more than usual…but hey, live a little;)

When I think of my wardrobe, I’m pretty happy with it! I have a lot of great pieces that I wear over and over. But then there are some things I just want to “try out” — for example, this green blazer and wide leg combo. I LOVE wide leg cropped jeans…but I don’t wear them enough to splurge on a designer pair. When I found this pair at Primark, I was so excited. And same with the blazer. I don’t typically wear a lot of color, but I really am into this softer green — but again, didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a new blazer.

What are some shops you go to for trendier pieces that still won’t break the bank!?
