What To Pack In Your Carry-On

It’s been on my bucket list to get out there and travel more.

So when Royal Caribbean invited me to check out one of their newest ships, Harmony of the Seas, I couldn’t say no. There was just no way. (Thank goodness for saved vacation days at work. Phew.) We’ll be embarking on our journey exactly a week from today, and I am so excited to share more with you in the next few weeks!

But on a more serious note…what the heck do I pack?

Since I haven’t traveled nearly as much as I want to, I’m not really the best at packing. I tend to get nervous and over-pack: What if I need this blouse? Or this pair of shoes? Oh! Can’t forget two different curling irons!

It’s seriously a dilemma.

But today, I want to share with you what to pack in your carry-on. Okay, fine, I’m going to show you what I’M GOING TO BE PACKING in hopes to give you some ideas;)

Carrying:

When it comes to packing, I think a new standard I need to make for myself: If I can’t carry it, I can’t take it. Luckily, I just got this amazing suitcase just in time for my quick getaway. I love all of the interior compartments, they allow me to strategically pack certain pieces in certain places – I think that’s really important when it comes to thinking about what to pack in your carry-on.

One of the coolest features of this suitcase is that there is an internal charger. SAAAAAY WHHAAAAAAT?! Yep. That’s right. There is a freakin’ charger. No more elbowing people at the airport for chargers. No more digging through your bag to find your portable one that will most likely die within a few minutes. This charger is so convenient for travel.

Ooooooh, I also just got this awesome convertible back pack. When it’s a backpack, it’s perfect for carrying through the airport. Then I can make the straps into a purse or take it off completely and just use it as a top-handle bag! How cool is that? I also love this mini version too.

PERFECT TRAVEL BAGS:

Wearing:

Personally, I love airports. Even when I was younger, it was one of my favorite places. So I guess that’s why I love airport style too.

Although my first priority is to be comfortable (especially for a longer flight), I still like to look somewhat presentable. Cause, ya know, the paparazzi are going to be waiting to take my photo;) (Ugh, that was a bad joke.) Since we’re heading somewhere warm by plane before the cruise, I’m most likely going to wear this tank, throw this on as a layer, and have my scarf nearby for extra warmth.

For this trip, I know I’m going to be packing 3-4 pairs shoes (definitely bringing these), a few pairs of shorts (just bought these), tons of dresses (how cute is this one), and some light layering pieces (like this bomber) – isn’t it cold on the water?. I just did some damage online (thank goodness for expedited shipping), so I’ll have some new fashion content to share with you from fun places!

WHAT TO PACK IN YOUR CARRY-ON:

Refreshing:

I’m not really big into skincare…..(I’m really trying to be better about this). But recently, I was introduced to a few brands that I’ve been obsessing over their products. TULA and Pixi are two really great brands that I plan to pack in my carry-on. I love the idea of keeping my face hydrated – especially since we’re going to be flying to the port. I have NO time to have dry skin (going from cold to hot temps really screws with my skin…and vice-versa).

What tips and tricks do YOU have when it comes to what to pack in your carry-on?

PS: I’ll be documenting my entire trip with the hashtag #PopFIzzTravel – be sure to follow along on Instagram!

I really liked this post, Dana!
    1) Your bedroom is ADORABLE!!!!
    2) So excited for your cruising adventure!! Personally, I’ve been on one cruise, and it wasn’t for me. But that was probably a special case, as I was sick before getting on and ended up so seasick that I was quarantined to my room the whole time! 🙁
    3) That is AMAZING that you love airports! So refreshing to hear, as most people, myself included hate them. (fear of flying – a recent fear!!)
Basically I need your energy and attitude (when it comes to travel and airports) to rub off on me! 😉
