When I reflect on the past year or so, it’s really easy to see how I’ve grown as a working professional, a blogger, and a woman in general. For me, I feel like I’m always on the go nowadays – which made me realize just how independent I am.
At work, I’m pretty confident in my role as a Merchandiser, so I know exactly what I need to do and how to get it done. I feel independent in the sense that I don’t need to rely so heavily on my supervisors, yet know when asking for help is appropriate.
As for the blog, this space really helped to bring out my feminine side and how I express my personal style! As far as the business aspect, handling everything on my own has definitely helped me become more aware of how sh*t runs. I’m responsible for contracts, invoices, taxes and all of the “not so fun” aspects that go into running a business. And as success comes, the more I’m okay with more responsibilities.
While I’m definitely fine with the fact being independent comes with a lot of responsibilities, I also realize there needs to be a healthy balance – which is why SoulCycle is such a huge part of my life. When I’m on the go, SoulCycle is that balance for me. It’s 45-minutes of me clearing my head before getting back to the daily grind.
Whether I’m heading to a SoulCycle class straight from work or shooting looks for the blog for a few hours or if I’m out of town for the weekend with my girls, I always make sure my bags are packed with essentials. Yes. Lady essentials. Just cause ya never know!
I recently picked up U by Kotex and it’s safe to say their products are my new go-to – it even came with a mini travel pack (only available at Walmart)! Thankfully, their products are colorful and discreet – making it easy to throw a few in my purse so I’m always prepared! Just another reason why I’m able to feel confident and independent…even when I’m on the go!
