A Long Weekend In Los Angeles: The Belamar Hotel

I gotta be honest, the only thing that pushed me to go to Los Angeles was the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.

It’s true, I’m not a huge fan of Los Angeles. Maybe that’s the New Yorker in me. But I’m definitely very happy that I went to LA for a long weekend. Today, I wanted to share a bit from my trip: What we did, where we stayed, and all that jazz!

Of course, the main reason why we went to Los Angeles was to go to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.

Where I stayed: the Belamar Hotel (…for the not-so-big-on-LA gals)

Since I’m not LA’s biggest fan, I wanted to stay somewhere outside of the city that was quiet and not in the middle of the city. I found The Belamar Hotel and knew it would be the perfect place for my long weekend stay.

Overall, the Belamar hotel was amazing. It was in a quiet neighborhood, so nice to come back to. Their newly renovated rooms were the epitome of a Manhattan Beach room, and I loved it! The Belamar Hotel was a 20-30 minute Uber to the downtown LA area too! I loved the more boho feel of the location, it was definitely a different scene than what I’m used to in New York City. The staff was so friendly and always willing to help accommodate with whatever we needed. My favorite part of The Belamar Hotel was walking into the room and finding a record player. I thought that was such a fun touch — along with the cute artwork in the room!

If I find myself back in Los Angeles, I might have to stay at The Belamar Hotel again!

What I did (for 36 hours)

Allie and I pretty much had three goals when we were in Los Angeles: Go to the VCPC, take photos at “the lamps” (LACMA), and have dinner with Jenn and Bob. And guess what? We accomplished all of those things, YAY! I would definitely have to say, this isn’t your typical LA guide. Since we didn’t have much time, we tried to run around as much as possible. So in between some shooting, we stopped at In-N-Out (Shake Shack definitely wins in my stomach), did some vintage shopping, and got a shot at “the pink wall” at the Paul Smith store.

One of my favorite parts of our trip was getting dinner with Jenn and Bob at Gracias Madre. Jenn warned us that it was a vegan restaurant, but I was SO open to it because I just pretty much anything that comes out of her mouth. We started off with chips, guac and salsa and I had THE most delicious spicy margarita ever. My mouth is still watering from it, and I can’t seem to find one to beat it in NYC yet. I chose to get “crab cakes” — made with hearts of palm. They were honestly delicious! Let’s just say my first time eating a vegan meal was a pleasant one, so I’m very open to trying more places!

Thank you to the Belamar Hotel for accommodating us for our stay!

The hotel looks so adorable and I love your shots! I’ve never been to LA, but I’m feeling like I have to book a trip just so I can decide if I’m more of a NYC or LA girl (though I think I’ve got a guess).
