Thanksgiving is my all time favorite holiday. It’s seriously the best day of the year and really kicks off the holiday season.

I’ve been having the exact same Thanksgiving traditions for as long as I can remember. Since the beginning, my family has always gone up to Westchester to my aunt and uncle’s house. This has been every year in my 25 years of existence with the exception of one year that my dad surprised my sister and I with a trip to Disney World when I was 7. Now that we’re all adults, we still have the same Thanksgiving traditions and go to Westchester, but go to my cousin and her husband’s house. It’s really the same, with some great additions: Matt, my brother-in-law, my cousin Kate’s mom, sister, and her husband. And a few other family members come in throughout the day. Although not all of us are technically related, it sure feels like we’re family.
My dad is THAT guy that arrives to places very early. When I say early, I mean we start Thanksgiving at 9:30AM. No, I’m serious. My cousin had to send a picture to one of her friends one year just to prove that “Uncle Nicky really does get here that early”. So embarrassing, but hey, more family time. We get the anti-pasto out and ready to go around 11AM, and just eat every single moment till the day is over. In between the eating, we pop a couple of bottles of champagne, and play with all of the kids (Maddie, Charlie, John, Aiden, Alex, and the newest addition: Maeve).
Seriously, THE BEST DAY EVER. I freakin’ love my Thanksgiving traditions.
Now although I don’t “travel”, I do love being comfortable when we’re heading to Westchester. This year, I’m definitely opting for these boyfriend jeans and an oversized sweater as my pre- Thanksgiving outfit. To me, this is always a look I gravitate towards when I’m traveling. When I’m not feeling typical black ponte pants, these boyfriend jeans are my go-to. They give off a little bit of a cool vibe, but are not restricting at all.
And I can’t talk about traveling without mentioning this weekender from DSW. It’s been THE best travel companion for my weekends. For those of you who don’t know, I typically live out of a bag on the weekend since I’m either at Matt’s apartment or in Westchester at his parents’ house. This weekender has been an absolute lifesaver. It comes with this shoe bag, which is great for keeping my shoes and clothes separate. PS: You’ll be able to snag it on Black Friday FOR FREE with a $39+ purchase…or on Thanksgiving if you purchase online. DO NOT miss out on getting this bag, you’re going to love it…especially if you’re always on the go!
Now YOU tell me what your Thanksgiving traditions are…and what your Thanksgiving outfit is going to be — I want to know!

Sounds like a great Thanksgiving tradition!! Ours has changed a little over the years. We used to go to my grandma’s house but we’ve grown up so much it was too small so now we all go to my parents house. It’s not an all day thing though, more like an evening thing followed by the girls going black Friday shopping.
Not sure about my outfit just yet but love yours! Definitely going for comfort no matter what though.
Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
Those look like such great bags for travel! Happy Thanksgiving!
