The New Velvet Dress

Just because the holidays are over, doesn’t mean I’m putting away my velvet pieces. In fact, I keep adding them to my closet! Like this velvet dress!

THE LOOK | white bell sleeve top (similar),  black velvet dress, strappy heels, black bag c/o (similar), celine sunglasses, red lip

It’s very obvious that velvet is a big trend this season. Like it’s everywhere. Shoes, bags, coats – you get the picture. When the trend first starting becoming a “thing”, all I could think about was how my mom dressed me in the 90s! In a way, I’m secretly happy velvet is a thing again.

When I bought the dress I wore in this post, it just reaffirmed that I did love all of the velvet that was happening. So I bought more. This velvet dress was one of the first things I purchased. Then I bought this bow clutch (which will be on the blog soon!). This look was so easy to put together and I love how simple it turned out to be in the end! This is the perfect wear-to-work look in my opinion! It’s fashionable, yet great for those work environments that you need to dress properly. And definitely something I’ll be wearing more often.

On a little more personal note…

I’m trying to get back to the gym this week. I joined Equinox in November, and haven’t been using my membership to its fullest potential. Now that it’s the new year, I definitely want to change that. Last night, I went to one of my favorite classes, Whipped!, and I’m planning on going at least 4 more times this week! To be honest, I used to be a SoulCycle addict, but I got way too lazy over the last couple of months and I felt like an Equinox membership (although more expensive) would be more beneficial. I love all of the classes they offer that will help target different parts of my body.

So I’ll definitely keep you updated on my progress – if that’s something you’re interested in. I know I’m not alone in the fitness journey…especially at the beginning of a new year! Maybe I’ll add a little fitness section in my Pop! Fizz! Chat! series? Let me know your thoughts!
