I know you’re going to think I’m biased, but J.Crew is REALLY good right now. A lot of us already knew that, but I’m constantly blown away month after month. I picked up some good pieces that help make up some good spring outfits. These are pieces that feel trendy yet basic all at the same time. I wanted to share a couple of pieces I’ve been wearing lately and also offer some sizing and styling tips so you can easily put together some good spring outfits this year!
We’re starting off with a bang — mainly because it’s shocking to see myself in this much color. I think now that I work for J.Crew, I’ve seen just what color can do for an outfit. This pop of color had me SO excited for some warmer spring weather.
STYLE NOTES: I went one size up from my usual size to make it fit slightly more boxy and oversized. The fit overall is definitely more relaxed and casual. One of the main reasons why I love this jacket so much is that it’s made from trench coat material – I’m not sure why I think that’s cool, but I do.

I had ZERO intentions on buying a linen short suit. UNTIL I TRIED IT ON IN THE STORE. I love love love the cuffed short look, so after trying them on I knew they were going to come home with me. Then I decided to try on the blazer, and honestly, I loved the fit too. Typically, I’d want it to be 50 sizes bigger so it could go past the length of the shorts…but then I realized, that’s not how it’s supposed to fit. When I put the suit on again when I got home, I realized I made such a good purchase. I can’t wait to style these both as a suit and as separates! The options are endless.
STYLE NOTES: I went with my normal size in the shorts and would say they do run TTS. For the blazer, I actually got my normal larger size (for once LOL). I’d say it’s true to size with a slightly relaxed fit.

When I tell you I was WAITING for this denim lady jacket to come back in stock. I wrote an entire post about lady jackets, and my love affair with them continues with this one. I can’t wait to wear this all spring and summer. It’s a perfect third piece and I love the feminine details!
STYLE NOTES: The fit, the wash, EVERYTHING is so good. Definitely runs TTS, I wouldn’t size up here to avoid longer sleeves and it should be slightly more fitted.

I owned a pair of grey Elsie heels in 2013, and they had a chokehold on me for YEARS. I wore them quite literally into the ground and had to get rid of them after absolutely demolishing them from so much wear. I wore them with everything, and actually very much loved this outfit. When J.Crew re-released them in an updated silhouette, I ran to get them. I picked them up in two colors – this gorgeous brown and then obviously black.
STYLE NOTES: These heels are insanely comfortable. In J.Crew heels, I always get my normal size (but go up a half size in flats). The slightly more blocked heel (square shape), makes it easier walk and again…they’re just overall a very comfortable every day heel.

Are you seeing a theme yet? I couldn’t resist this longer line sweater blazer with the gold button detail. I was on my way to the register when this sweater blazer caught my eye. I’ve also been on a navy kick (which is crazy to me, because I would always gravitate towards black), so I felt like I should add a navy cardigan to my wardrobe.
STYLE NOTES: I took my normal size in this sweater blazer. The material is a nice weight – you can wear this in Fall and Spring for sure. The collarless silhouette helps it be a little less formal and therefore you can style it so many different ways!

Ah, the barn jacket. It’s an absolute classic piece in the J.Crew lineage, and I’m so happy it was brought back with this embellished collar detail. I’ve been styling it with both leggings and jeans, and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it!
STYLE NOTES: I love this jacket because it’s unlined, so I can still get away with some light spring layers. The material is similar to that of the Downtown Field Jacket – it’s a nice medium weight cotton. I would size down in this if you want it SLIGHTLY more fitted. I took my normal size and it definitely leans more oversized.

I really do believe that everyone needs a good trench coat in their lives. I remember my parents bought me a Brooks Brothers trench coat for my 21st birthday, and I FELT so chic. So cool. So put together. Like THAT’S the power of a trench coat. I decided it was time for a new trench — plus my Brooks Brothers one was a little too small on me. And in comes the Icon Trench.
STYLE NOTES: This trench is SO good. My favorite detail is the removable hood. I almost ALWAYS take off the hood, unless I’m wearing it when it’s raining – then it comes in handy. I got a 4P and I wish I would have sized up TBH. If you’re getting the regular size, I’d either do your normal size or size up (definitely size up if you want to layer).

I knew this skirt was coming, and had it in my cart since. When I recently went into the store, I was so happy to see it hanging. It’s SUCH a good transitional piece, and I love the checkered pattern. I realized I’m more of a skirt gal than a dress gal, so it’s not a surprise that a gravitated towards this skirt.
STYLE NOTES: This skirt runs LARGE. I actually sized down TWO sizes – when normally I need to size up in these kinds of skirts. There is no zip closure, it’s just a pull on so it’s also very comfortable. I can’t wait to style this skirt with fisherman sandals and my Hermes Orans!

OKAY LAST ONE – and yes, more gold button details. I cannot rave more about this sweater lady jacket. I have it in two colors, and I’m thinking of getting the red. It really does go with absolutely EVERYTHING. Dresses, jeans, skirts – dressed up, dressed down….this sweater can complete the look.
STYLE NOTES: This sweater runs true to size. The quality is IMPECCABLE, it’s a durable weight that feels SO luxurious. I love that you can wear it opened or closed and the cropped length is so good for dresses or high waisted jeans.
