Well, since it’s Throwback Thursday…here’s a little peak at another shoot I did while I was in Chicago.
And yep, that was the best intro I could write for this post…because, well, MDW got the best of me and I’m still recovering.
The Chicago Riverwalk in the morning was so beautiful. I remember the air had a slight chill to it, but it was warm enough to not wear a coat. And it was quiet.
I distinctly remember thinking, “I could have sworn The Loop was a place where a lot of people worked. Where the hell is everyone?” (So naturally, I asked the question to my photographer, Melissa.) And as we shot these photos, it was pretty nice to not really have anyone around. Because, ya know, when you’re shooting in NYC, people just stare at you like you’re a crazy person.
If we’re being honest, I wore this look (or at least some components of it) more than once on our trip to Chicago (read more about our stay here). I couldn’t help it. This top – I found a super similar version here too – is something that I’ve had my eye on for so long. I never knew what I’d wear it with, or when I’d wear it, or how long the trend would be relevant – but at under $20, I couldn’t resist. I’m all for a good off the shoulder top, but the tie detail really sealed the deal for me.
Now let’s talk about these earrings. This may be the first time you’re seeing them on the blog, but I promise you I’ve worn them about 25 times since getting them three weeks ago. I think they’re SUCH a statement piece, and you don’t really need to wear much else when you have these babies on (except maybe this). The best part? They’re not really that heavy either, so they don’t bother my ears even after wearing them for 8 hours!
