Sometimes I think it’s really difficult dressing for my 5’2 frame and body type (#firstworldproblems, I know).
There are certain trends that I just never will be able to pull off – like wide-legged denim. I look horrendous in them. My sister, who’s 5’0, wears them like it’s her damn job though.
So basically, I guess it’s just what you think looks good on your body (because that’s actually all that really matters, no?). When culottes (obsessed with this pair) first became a thing, I was immediately in love. They’re different from forbidden word, gauchos, and I just really wanted a pair. I could never find one that really worked for my body…until I found out jumpsuit culottes were a thing.
I love jumpsuits because I usually belt them so I can create some sort of illusion that I have curves…and a cinched waist. My friend, Erica, wore this to a wedding a few weeks ago, and I’ve had my eyes on it since. I asked her to borrow it because, once again, I wanted to pair it with my leather jacket.
Once I tried it on, I couldn’t resist wearing it – the back alone was enough to justify borrowing it from my friend. Black pumps and the leather jacket definitely help make it seasonally appropriate. It’s also fancy enough to wear to a holiday event you have (if you’re not into sparkle, glitter, sequins, etc.)!
