Prepping Your Skin For Winter

There’s nothing worse than flaky, itchy skin once the temps drop.

It’s gross. It’ doesn’t look cute. And it’s uncomfortable. NOTHING is worse than dry skin in the winter. Now that I’m an “adult”, my skin has become very important to me. Not only my face, but all over my body. Today, I wanted to share some of my tips for keeping your skin feeling amazing even through the winter.

Still warm? Start caring now

I know, in most places it’s still pretty warm out. But that doesn’t mean you should be neglecting your skin. I’ve been a big fan of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula forEVER. I’ve always had super dry skin (and places like the birth mark on my arm are SUPER ROUGH/DRY), and I’ve always been frustrated with it. When I started using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula, my skin has been hydrated from head to toe. It literally melts into your skin, so moisturizer is locked in and it ain’t going no where (oh, and it’s packed with Vitamin E, so there’s the reduction of scars, stretch marks, etc.!). I was recently introduced to Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Body Lotion, and have been putting it on immediately after taking a shower – skin has never felt smoother afterwards, even those super tough areas.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

This should be a no brainer, but it’s something I’m still working on. Unfortunately, I don’t drink enough water. I never have. While I LOVE water, I just never want to drink a ton because I never go to the bathroom. When I do drink more water, I notice a significant difference in my skin.

Exfoliate

My forehead is INSANELY dry during the colder months, and all of the moisturizer in the world couldn’t fix that. Here’s where I’m really giving away the fact that I knew NOTHING about skincare: I HAD NO IDEA AN EXFOLIATE WOULD HELP. I know. Super embarrassing. I would exfoliate 2-3 times a week, no more than that though. This will help get rid of all the dead, dry skin and leave you feeling fresh. I also started exfoliating my body more often!

Don’t forget your hair

This is something I feel like people always forget. During the winter, my scalp also gets so dry and flaky. So what could I do? Moisturize my hair. DUH. Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack! This moisture-intensive treatment mask created a protective barrier that seals in moisture, repair damage, and straighten hair.

And there you have it! Just a few ways of making sure your skin looks and feels its best. What are some of your ways to beat the winter temps? Have you tried Palmer’s?
