A weekly series dedicated to everything from life, travel and fashion Q&A, sale finds, weekend updates, sneak peeks and more!
A little travel, life and fashion Q&A. I want to answer them ALL.
What is your favorite place to shop for shoes?
My go to is always Nordstrom. I typically find all of my shoes there. But if a shoe I want isn’t in stock, I’ll head to Zappos, Amazon, or Macy’s.
I loved your series about your job! So interesting! Did you always know you wanted to go in this direction for a job?
That’s a great question! I touched upon it a bit in the first part of that series: I really had no idea what I wanted to do — but I did know I wanted to be in fashion! I interned in Sales and I knew that was NOT the path for me, and I decided to learn more about Merchandising. Luckily, when I was applying for jobs, my current position kind of fell in my lap. I’m SO happy as a Merchandiser, it combines both the creative side and the business side of fashion…two things I think I have strengths in!
Here’s what I’m loving, buying and eyeing!
I randomly saw that Nasty Gal was having a 50% off promotion, so I decided to do a little shopping. I got these jeans and this duster. I actually didn’t even know Nasty Gal still existed. But hey, pleasant surprise for sure!
Great Weekend Sales:
- French Connection – 30% off outerwear with code FCCJ30
- Macy’s – 20% off with code BDAY
- Lord & Taylor – extra 15% off with code LTDAYS
- Ralph Lauren – spend $125, get 30% off with code STYLE17
- Pottery Barn – up to 40% off
Where are you shopping this weekend? Is your wardrobe all ready for fall? I just switched over my closet from spring/summer to fall/winter and I pulled out some of my favorite things (read: sweaters)! Although I HATE cleaning and purging, I loved going through my cold weather clothes and rediscovering some of my favorite things!
Weekend plans, anyone?
This is a busy, busy weekend for me.
Tonight, Elle and I are going to get our first treatments at Skin Laundry. We are SO excited. I’ve heard such great things about these 15-minute facials, so I’m probably going to get hooked real quick. After, we’re going to head to dinner at Wagamama for some Thai! On Saturday, I’m spending the day organizing my blog life since I seemed to have committed to a lot of projects between now and January. And then I’m shooting some fun things before heading to one of my good friend’s birthday dinner in Brooklyn! Yay for tacos and margs!
Sunday is all about family time. It’s our little cousin, Maeve’s, Christening and I’m so excited to see my whole family!
A little recap on readers’ favorite posts from the past few days and weeks.
What the heck do bloggers do anyway?
My thoughts on creating a personal brand.
Digital eye strain is real. You should probably know about it too.
CHAMPAGNE TO GO
Ah, the jet set life…where to next?
Nothing major coming up in my travels, but in a few weeks Matt and I are heading down to Washington DC to visit Kristyn and finally meet her boyfriend! We’re going to a Penguins/Capitals game and I’m obviously SO excited. I haven’t been to DC in a while, and I’m not sure how to feel about it. Although I did like going to school right near the nation’s capital, I have a lot of bad memories in Virginia/DC…and just think New York City is a much better place for me. Once I think about all of the amazing girls I’ve met in the DC area, those ill-feelings tend to go away;) So I guess we’ll see…stay tuned!
