Pop Fizz Chat: Girls’ Weekend | 8.18

A weekly series dedicated to everything from life, travel and fashion Q&A, sale finds, weekend updates, sneak peeks and more!

A little travel, life and fashion Q&A. I want to answer them ALL.

Why did you decide to write more personal posts?
This was actually a random decision for me. Some of the first personal posts I wrote were about body confidence and then another on my personal take on politics. When I noticed they got significantly more page views than normal outfit posts, I decided to start thinking about the type of content I wanted to write. I started writing more meaningful content and got such a great response, so I’m keeping up with it. Basically, I decided to write more personal posts because they perform a lot better than my “here’s what I’m wearing” posts.

Here’s what I’m loving, buying and eyeing!

I haven’t done much shopping at all lately. Gasp! I know. It’s awful. BUT I did recently buy a Google Chromebook. Long story short, my MacBook from 2011 completely crapped out on me. As in, it started saying my hard drive just didn’t exist anymore. I’m not too upset because I’ve had it for such a long time, but I knew it was time to get a new one. Instead of spending over $1000 on a new MacBook, I decided to look into Chromebooks. And let me tell you, I’m very happy I did.

I bought this one and actually had it delivered to the Hamptons…so it was waiting for me. Jenn was actually shocked when I had it up and running in two minutes. I literally just signed into my Google account and voila!, I was good to go! My thought process was this: I don’t edit anything on my laptop anyway, I wait till I’m on my desktop. So really, I just needed a laptop to take with me when I travel. I looked into Chromebooks immediately because I wasn’t ready to drop a ton of money on a new MacBook. I ended up buying a refurbished Acer Chromebook. So far, so good. I’ll be sure to give any updates once I really start using it!

A little recap on readers’ favorite posts from the past few days and weeks.

My thoughts on the growing blog community.

Let’s talk about engagement on blogs and social media.

The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is one of my favorite events of the year. L.A. looks pretty good to me;)

Weekend plans, anyone?

I’m currently in the Hamptons with Allie, Jenn, and Kristyn. We ate at EMP Summer Pop Up and it was SO delicious.

We shared two bottles of wine, and just played catch up. I’m just so excited for the rest of the weekend with them. The weather isn’t supposed to be the best for the next two days, but we’ll make the best of it! Today we were thinking about heading out to Montauk for lobster rolls at Lunch, Topping Rose House for dinner, then catching the sunset at Wolffer’s Wine Stand. Saturday, we’re planning on heading to Surf Lodge and then The Sloppy Tuna for a ridiculously fun day and night! Although I’m definitely trying to work on some great content for the blog, I’m really just focusing on having fun with great company!

A few of my favorite blog posts (and articles) from this week!

So excited to follow your trip to the Hamptons! It’s already looking like a blast. You also now have my convinced to go with a Google Chromebook next time around. I too wait to edit my photos until I’m on my desktop. So that makes perfect sense. Have a great time this weekend gal!
