If you ask me what I’m most proud of, 99.9% of the time I’m going to say, “being a New Yorker”. (The .1% is when I’ll say I hate being a New Yorker because I’m standing in the hot subway station…or something like that, lol).
I love what just naturally comes with being a native New Yorker. One of the things I’ve learned over the years is just how unique everyone in this city is. And being unique could mean so many different things. Style is one of these elements that make up a New Yorker’s uniqueness.
My style has absolutely been influenced by the city that I come from. I love that I can be whoever I want to be on any given day of the week. One day I can wear aggressive over the knee boots (like in this post), and the next I can wear the prettiest dress. It’s pretty great to not have to feel so much pressure when it comes to styling looks for Pink Champagne Problems either.
Many bloggers have their classic M.O., which is obviously really cool. But for me, I’m pretty happy that I can walk into a store or browse online, see a cool piece, and just try it. Sometimes they work (like I never thought I’d wear this look), and sometimes they don’t (these will never work for me). One day, I woke up, and wanted to try to wear overalls. And that’s exactly what I did.
So, thank you, New York, for allowing me to be whoever and wear whatever I want. You make me feel pretty cool.
