getting cut(e) with david benjamin

Wearing Fall Scarves I’m really not good about keeping my hair healthy. I just assume that if I want it to grow, you don’t cut it. Also, I had a BAD experience in 2013 when I thought it was a good idea to chop my hair off up to my chin. That’s cute.

Wearing a black sweater with leopard skirt samkelly_dsc7871-1 So when NYC hairstylist, David Benjamin (find him on Instagram here) invited me to come in for a cut and blowout, I quickly jumped on the opportunity to finally fix my hair a bit. When I walked into Wonderland Beauty Parlor, I knew I was in for a real treat. David and his team treated me like I was a celebrity – which is fitting considering David has represented everyone from SJP to Demi Moore. Aside from the amazing experience David has in the industry, he’s actually a really down-to-earth, normal guy. We chatted about his recent wedding, the blogging industry, and he even tought me some tricks to blow drying my own hair (because I suck at it, quite frankly).

If you’re in the NYC area, I highly recommend David, as he is an amazing NYC hairstylist! I’m already planning on going back for another service – maybe a little blonde?;)

I have been going to the same salon since I was 12. (minus the awful Aveda mistake of 2015) I’m trying a new place on Friday, but I had a consultation last week and they come recommended. Love your waves and I could def see you going a little blonde- like a biolage.

Right?! Same here, but David had such high accolades that I had to see what he could do for me! I definitely would love some more blonde in my hair, nothing crazy 😉 Good luck with your new place!

You should TOTALLY add some blonde! I did a “baby balayage” and I am obsessed. Your hair always looks so amazing!
