A New York City Christmas: The Plaza Hotel

“Guests of the new celebrity Ding-Dang-Dong stay at the world-renowned Plaza Hotel, New York’s most exciting hotel experience!”

A quote from one of my favorite movies (Home Alone 2) of all time about one of my favorite places (The Plaza Hotel) of all time. And the perfect introduction to the Pink Champagne Problems New York City Christmas series: A look at some of my absolute favorite spots in the city during the holidays!

In my eyes, there’s NOTHING better than The Plaza to start my New York City Christmas feature. I have nothing but AMAZING memories at this hotel, starting from when I was a baby! My dad told me he used to let me run around at breakfast because they didn’t have high chairs. So to spite them, he let me roam around and I would just go up to every table to talk to people. I’m sure my mother loooooved that. One time he said I was babbling back and forth with a couple from France. You can say I was a bit of a chatterbox. Then, I remember being so picky and mad that they didn’t serve no pulp orange juice…only fresh squeezed;) Like okay, 9 year old Dana, settle down. And then there was my 21st birthday when I stayed at The Plaza Hotel after a night out celebrating. It was pretty awesome to say the least.

So yeah, The Plaza has been a great place for some great memories. But during the holidays? It’s even better.

A New York City Christmas is even better when you’re at The Plaza Hotel. The decorations alone make it worth it. But it is pretty hard to get into The Plaza Hotel during this time unless you have reservations for a stay or reservations at one of their restaurants (personally, I love the Champagne Bar — duh). You can always visit the food hall though, so that’s definitely better than nothing;)

The Gapstow Bridge is one of my favorite places to capture the beauty of The Plaza Hotel. Not only do you get to be in Central Park, but you get to take in one of the best views of The Plaza. It’s such a quintessential New York City view, and in my opinion, it’s the second best view in the city (this is the first).

I hope you are already enjoying the Pink Champagne Problems New York City Christmas. I’ve been having so much fun shooting looks for this series! Any guesses on what will be coming up next???

Love these photos… such an incredible view of the plaza and those shoes are so perfect for a bit of festivity!

I feel like such a bad new yorker when I saw this, but I never actually been inside The Plaza! Maybe I’ll have to sneak in this year to find some of the magic you’ve experienced over the years!

Gorgeous shots, very much a SATC moment! I’m partial to the Palm Court, it’s like a little piece of the tropics right here in NYC. Can’t wait to read the rest of your series, I’m looking to step up my NYC holiday game this season!
