The Watercolor Maxi Dress | Notting Hill, London

A maxi dress for spring is sort of a given, but this one happened to be perfect for our Notting Hill adventure – so I HAD to share.

I mean a flowy maxi dress can be perfect and dramatic in a lot of different situations, but it was specifically perfect for our adventure through Notting Hill.

When I think about wearing a maxi dress for spring, I think about just how many different ways there are to wear it. Between the many different fabrics and silhouettes (all maxi), there’s some thing so easy about a maxi dress for spring.

A few years ago, I would tell you I could never wear a maxi dress because of my height. Now, I’m like “*insert favorite f word* that”, I can wear what I want. The key to wearing a maxi dress is to find one that does work for your height…and if it doesn’t, then fake it. (Pro tip: If you’re short like me, you can get tea length dresses…they end up being maxi length anyway.)

This maxi dress would be very long on me if I didn’t belt it. But that didn’t stop me from wearing it. Duh. My simple solution was adding a belt (this one is my current favorite) and some heels (yes, the heels I own in basically every color imaginable). I knew it was going to be absolutely perfect for our adventure through Notting Hill. I love Chicwish for many reasons, but one of them has to be the “on trend” pieces. Or pieces that make me want a certain season to happen, ASAP. Like this maxi dress for spring. I also have my eye on this ADORABLE flamingo top.

The colors on most blocks were ADORABLE! It really reminded me of Charleston/Rainbow Row, only this had a more “London” feel. Which basically makes no sense, but you catch my drift, right? We spent HOURS (seriously, hours) walking around Notting Hill, stopping in the cutest vintage shops along the way. We even checked out Matches Fashion – an online-only retailer in the US. I get a lot of my higher ticketed items, like my beautiful booties and my cat eye sunglasses that I’ve worn in basically every outfit post ever;) Also, I have a question: Why do Notting Hill homes have THE cutest doors? I mean look at this one we stumbled upon. Adorable!

PS: My hair DOES NOT look like this anymore;)

I really like the addition of a ring belt! I think it makes the floral a bit more cooler and modern – thanks for the idea 😉

This dress is everything! The movement, the colors, the style, I love it all. And it looks incredible against the homes behind you. Totally reminds me of Charleston as well.
