The Pom Pom Beanie

2017: The year of investment pieces. And lots of this pom pom beanie.

I hope everyone had a great time ringing in the new year! Matt and I spent this year with his friends at one of their apartments. It was definitely more relaxing than past New Year’s Eve nights, and it was JUST what I wanted to do. I drank Veuve Clicquot in a super cozy sweater dressgot my midnight kiss, called/texted my loved ones, and then walked to McDonald’s around 1am to get some breakfast sandwiches (okay fine, we may have gotten chicken nuggets too) before walking two blocks home. How did you ring in 2017?!

AND NOW, IT’S BACK TO THE GRIND. WOOF.

Since I have a full-time job on top of the blog (here’s a little more about what I do), I’m always looking for pieces that transition well from the blog to my office and vice-versa. Although it’s super casual in my office, it’s still a corporate environment, so there are things I tend to stay away from.

Then there are things like coats and outerwear that you need to think about when it comes to investing in pieces. I already have a great trench coat that my parents bought me for my 21st birthday (styled in this post here), and last March I invested in a Canada Goose jacket to keep me extra warm during the winter. I realized I needed a “fancier” coat, and this one 100% fit the bill.

From the double breasted gold hardware to the classic mini check pattern, I know this coat will be a staple in my closet for a long time! For my petite girls, I’m wearing a 2P and I LOVE the way it fits in the shoulders and arm length!

Now I feel the need to mention this pom pom beanie because it’s one of my favorite accessory purchases recently! It’s super chunky which keeps me warm and pom poms are kind of a big deal right now, wouldn’t you agree?
