Since February is the month of love, I think it’s time we have a talk.
I’m really not one for loving all of the typical Valentine’s Day nonsense. But I decided that showing others love is especially important (not just this month, but all the time). So why not talk about it during the “month of love”? And I’m not really talking about romantic love at all.
There are many people that I owe SO much to. I think it’s important to constantly show up for the people who are there for you no matter what.
send that text or make the call
I’m a big believer in the little things. It doesn’t take much for me to shoot someone a text. If something random reminds me of someone, I text them. I like letting people know I’m thinking about them. If a friend is going through something, I make sure to text or call them. Just saying you’re there for someone is HUGE. Personally, it means a lot to me when someone tells me that they’re there for me. It really does mean everything.
plan something special
I think it shows a lot when you plan something unexpected for a friend or loved one. I’ll never forget on my birthday last year, Elle planned a best friend afternoon and took me to get matching friendship bracelets. It was a total surprise and when she told me, I was actually like AWWWWWW OMG. It was such a nice gesture and made me so grateful for my bestie!
be there
The biggest thing is to just be there for someone. Even if they don’t ask for it. Sometimes people either don’t want to ask you to be there for them OR they actually just don’t want you to be there (in that moment). But still, I highly recommend you just making sure your loved ones know you’re there when they need it. I promise they’ll appreciate that more than you know, and will ask you for help when they need.
support them
If a friend or loved one is doing something big or making moves, SUPPORT THEM! If they have an event their hosting, GO TO IT. If they’re in the influencer space, SHARE THEIR CONTENT. If they’re a singer or actor, SHOW UP FOR THEM.
