Damn. It’s freakin’ freezing lately. I mean, I guess it is winter and all. But my commute to work is SO NOT FUN. Ugh! I’m actually just complaining more than I should, considering my whole commute consists of me being outside for 5-10 minutes.
To be honest, I feel like I’m in a little bit of a style rut. Does that ever happen to you? In the winter, it’s so hard for me to try and find a “blog-post worthy” look because it’s just too damn cold. I just want to wear my cashmere sweater, stay bundled up under the covers, and sit next to the fireplace. *Rant over*
If you know anything about me, I love layering. I’m usually warm, like 99% of the time, but I still layer most of the time. I just feel like there’s so much you can do with layering….until you’re in that style rut. The struggle.
I usually do the whole shirt under a sweater kind of layering, so now I’m just bored of it. Of course it will always be my go-to layering style, especially when I’m in the office.
I don’t know where I got the idea of layering a long cardigan under a denim jacket, but I’m glad I did. It was so cozy, and definitely something completely different from my usual layered look.
Also, let’s talk about two things: my booties and these sunglasses. First, the booties. I was so tired of my legs constantly looking like stumps – so I rummaged through my sister’s closet and pulled out these Steve Madden booties. It was like all of my problems were instantly solved. And now, the sunglasses. Remember in this post when I was talking about them?
I was SO close to purchasing them (one click away, to be exact) when I realized, “Oh wait, these are $300 and I’m not even sure they’re going to look good on my face.” So I did some research, and got these lookalikes for…….drumroll please……$5. Yep, you read that right.
I actually love the way they look on my face, definitely a nice change from my Rayban aviators. I’m still thinking about getting the Karen Walker ones, but for now, these will do just fine. (Ok, I’ll admit, I really just need to pay my student loans before dropping $$$$ on sunglasses.)
