Now that I think about it: Is there ever a reason to NOT wear all black everything?
Maybe I’m saying this because of the unspoken rule in the fashion industry, but let’s think about it.
Wearing all black is good for the following reasons (and I wrote about it a little more in this post):
1. Wearing all black makes you look skinnier. So duh.
2. Wearing all black gives off the “I’m sophisticated and chic.” #Fashun
3. Wearing all black means you don’t need to match. 50 shades of black.
4. Wearing all black allows you to add crazy accessories. Like this belt.
5. Wearing all black is the confidence boost you need for that bold red lip. My go-to.
I’m all about adding some color into your wardrobe, but I definitely don’t have a colorful wardrobe. If you’re looking for a blogger with a colorful wardrobe, check out my friend Mollie’s blog – you’re welcome in advance, color addicts 😉
But yeah – for the most part, I stick to pretty neutral colors – beige, navy, black – with the occasional bold color (remember these culottes?). I think I wear neutrals because I feel most comfortable in those colors AND because I love adding an accessory or two to my look: this belt (makes an outfit stand out!), these earrings (coming to the blog soon!), this scarf, these sunglasses (just $50!), this lip color (which I’ve been wearing more and more lately)…the list could really go on forever.
Another point worth noting: I’m more about pieces that will last me a looooong time, and I just feel like I’ll never get sick of wearing something that’s neutral as opposed to something that is a bright, bold color. For example, as much as I’d love to wear this, I know investing in a classic blazer is much smarter. I tend to save the trendy pieces for accessories (seriously, let’s take another look at these crazy amazing earrings…and in another fun color).
