Fashion Comfort Zones

Because I live in New York City, I think it’s very easy for me to step outside of my comfort zone when it comes to fashion. Does that mean I always do? Absolutely not.

THE LOOK | puffer jacket (on sale), sweater (on sale), jeans, boots, headband, sunglasses

So when I had the chance to go to Kennebunkport, Maine and morph into a complete snow bunny, I decided to jump on the opportunity. And it all started with this headband.

When I was thinking about outfits I wanted to shoot, I really wanted to capture winter looks in Kennebunkport. I wanted to make sure I had all of the right accessories. I originally almost bought a trapper hat, but then stumbled upon this faux fur headband. I didn’t really know how I felt about it, but given the price point, I purchased it anyway. To my surprise, I actually liked it! I thought it was semi-funny, semi-chic, and just perfect for our little weekend trip to Kennebunkport. See what I mean? Stepping out your fashion comfort zones can be beneficial!

Stepping Out of Your Fashion Comfort Zones – Do it for yourself

The fashion industry and the fashion blogging community gives us a chance to step outside of our comfort zones, and wear whatever the heck we want. You shouldn’t dress for others. Don’t dress a certain way because you think it’s “right”. Just wear whatever the heck makes you feel good. If you try a certain trend and hate it, well, at least you tried it!

Stepping Out of  Your Fashion Comfort Zones  – You might be surprised

Much like I was about this headband, you might be surprised at how much you dig a specific piece or certain trend. For me, when I step out of my fashion comfort zone and it goes well, I end up falling in love with a new brand or trend! To me, that’s always a win-win!

Stepping Out of  Your Fashion Comfort Zones – You’ll attract new audiences

This is geared towards my fellow bloggers. When I’m looking to follow new accounts and blogs, I look to see how versatile they are. I love people that don’t stick to one specific look, and try new things. Maybe that’s why I’m trying to do this myself! I want to not only show off my typical go-to style, but also share glimpses of me stepping out of my comfort zone in hopes to inspire others to do so!

I’ve been trying to go outside my comfort zone too! Or at least expand my comfort zone, haha. I think it’s a good exercise since it forces each to rethink the way I am presenting myself to the world.
I love the hat, you look great! xAllie http://www.theallthatglittersblog.com
