Since Fall in New York City seems pretty scarce (it’s either 70 degree or 35 degrees), I’m making sure to put my best foot forward when it comes to dressing for my favorite season!
THE LOOK | striped tee, plaid shirt, scarf, crossbody — c/o
There’s nothing I love more than layers in cool weather. You know what I’m talking about right? I love the weather that’s just cool enough to add an additional piece to your outfit, but not have to wear a jacket to cover them up. And my favorite part of the weekend is using the day to be productive. Whether it’s for the blog, running errands for the house, or just meeting up with friends for brunch, I love making my weekends useful. And I love making sure I’m in a cozy, comfortable fall outfit.
Old Navy has always been a great place for me to stock up on pieces to layer. This striped t-shirt is such a great basic to have in your closet no matter the season. It’s super lightweight and really soft — so it’s perfect as a base layering piece! At $20, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have this t-shirt in your wardrobe! I’ve always loved wearing stripes with pretty much anything, and this classic plaid shirt was an easy choice. Whenever I go out, I typically reach for a scarf as my third layer for extra warmth. This solid fringe scarf makes layering so easy. It also comes in seven fun colors, so you can find one that also makes your look pop!
When it comes to other accessories, I like to keep it simple. A beanie adds some extra warmth and a “cool” factor. I picked up this easy to wear crossbody because sometimes I really have no use for one of my typical big, every day bags. I love this new one because of the dual pockets — it surprisingly fits a lot!
This look has already been on repeat, and it’s so easy to evolve! Throw on a fun sherpa jacket or just a classic denim jacket. Trade in loafers for some booties. Or maybe even switch out the scarf.
That’s the beauty of layering: Anything goes!
