Elle’s Edit: Travel With Me- South Carolina

Since I am traveling a bit this summer, I wanted to start a series called “Travel with Me” and recap where I have traveled to.

On the evening of Saturday, June 2nd after the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic I traveled to Charleston, South Carolina. Let me tell you, Charleston stole my heart. This was my first time visiting Charleston and I can’t believe it has taken me this long. I fell in LOVE with the charm, the food, the people, EVERYTHING. If I won the lottery tomorrow, you betcha bottom dollar that I would be moving down there in an instant. I unfortunately was in Charleston for only 24 hours because we had to head down to Hilton Head for the rest of our trip but I made the most out of the time we had. We started off the day at The Battery and parked our car and walked to Waterfront Park and visited the infamous Pineapple Fountain (heart eyes emoji), walked past Rainbow Row (currently taking applications for a roommate), and spent a couple hours walking around the Charleston City market. I was so overwhelmed in the market and honestly in awe of the vendors and their hard work. I picked up a beautiful painting of Rainbow Row (can you tell that I’m obsessed?), pineapple salad bowl spoons, and pineapple cheese cutter. After spending hours sweating at the market we made our way to King Street and popped into the cutest stores, got ice cream, and OF COURSE stopped in the Skinny Dip store and got some yummy frosé. And before you know it, it was time to head to Hilton Head.

On our way to Hilton Head, we stopped at the Angel Oak tree near Charleston and I am so glad we did. Y’all, that tree is incredible. It is insane to think that it is over 400+ years old and is still in great shape.

I’ve been to Hilton Head many times before when I was younger so I didn’t really do anything very different. I was only there for 3 days so I spent a majority of the time laying on the beach, going for walks, and riding our bikes all around the island. To switch things up, we decided to go on a Happy Hour boat ride that the Salty Dog Café hosts and man, was it something. I highly encourage you all to take this boat cruise because it was incredible. We saw dolphins, an incredible sunset, and not to mention the drinks were SO good.

Have you ever been to Charleston or Hilton Head? I am going to plan a trip back soon so I can spend more time in Charleston. It captured my heart for sure!
