Elle’s Edit: Our Trip to Vermont

This past weekend, Allie and I made the trek up to Vermont!

Is there anything better than Fall in New England? The answer to that question is NO! Allie and I made our way up to Vermont (about a 3ish hour drive) on Thursday mid-day and stayed until Sunday. It was the perfect trip filled with relaxation, wine, exploring, yummy food, and just some quality friend time.

I mean these pictures…enough said. And there is no filter on any of them if you could believe it! Anyways, Allie and I started the journey up to Vermont and stopped at Big Y to stock up on some snacks and of course wine. We got to our airbnb at the perfect time in the evening before it got dark to enjoy a glass of wine on the porch of the house. It was perfect. We really then spent the evening just hanging out and chatting. The best part about the house was that there was no TV so we really felt like we were in the moment and enjoyed catching up by the fire.

On Friday, it unfortunately was rainy so we started the day at this adorable breakfast spot called Dots and then we ventured out to Brattleboro and spent the day walking around and popping into the shops. We then got some ice cream (duh) and then made our way back to the house for the rest of the night. We picked up dinner at the CUTEST deli and had some incredible sandwiches and mac and cheese (YUM). Where we stayed wasn’t the closest to a “town” but honestly what in Vermont is? We didn’t mind driving during the day and at night to be in the busier part of the state to have a meal or just to pass time during the day. We both were saying how nice it actually was to be secluded from people and the hustle and bustle just because we are used to that living in NYC. It felt great to actually unplug and enjoy being in the moment.

On Saturday, we went back to Dots for breakfast, explored the flea market, drove around,  and then made ourselves a cute little picnic before we went to Brattleboro for a 7:30 dinner reservation. I know I keep saying this but this was the perfect day. The weather was incredible, sunny and in the low 50s.

Sunday unfortunately was the day where we had to pack up our bags and head back to the city. We had a plan in mind to go to one breakfast place but they were only doing takeout (womp Covid) and we went to this yummy local place in Massachusetts on our way home. We then sang our entire way and then got back in the city just in time for a Sunday afternoon nap before the busy week ahead!

Have you been to Vermont?
