Elle’s Edit: Fall Bucket List

Without a doubt, fall is my absolute favorite season.

I love fall. And I know EVERYONE and their mother says that but I really do love fall. There is something about it that just makes me feel at ease and myself. For starters, I am not constantly sweating all the time and that is a big perk especially commuting to and from work. Another major reason why I love fall is because of FOOTBALL. If you know anything about me, football is my favorite thing like ever. I have been watching football since birth with my dad and that tradition continues even though I we are over a thousand miles apart from each other. I am a diehard Notre Dame (most of my family went here) and Giants fan. My plans on Saturday and Sunday revolve around game days and nothing is going to change about that. Another thing that I love about fall? The food! I’m not a PSL gal but I do love a home baked loaf of pumpkin bread. There is nothing better in the world than the smell of baked goods especially in your small nyc apartment. Hm what else do I like? Just the crisp air and being cozy and surrounded by my loved ones, my birthday (October 13th), and the start to the holidays. This fall will be my second fall here in NYC so I wanted to put together a bucket list and see how many things I can accomplish this year!

Go Apple Picking.

I’m actually going to be able to cross this one of my list this weekend! Dana, Allie, and I are headed to a farm outside the city and I can’t wait to spend time with my girls. It has been a while since we all have been able to hangout together so I am looking forward to a little road trip.

Go To A Football Game.

My dad is actually flying into town the weekend before Thanksgiving and we are going to the Notre Dame vs Syracuse Football game at Yankee Stadium. I am oh so excited especially since I haven’t been to a sporting event in Yankee Stadium other than watching the Yankees. I usually make my way to South Bend every year to catch a game with my friend Colleen but this year I am trying to stay more local and enjoy everything that fall has to offer in the city. I would love to go to a Giants game this year so hoping I can get the hook up with some tickets! I went to a pre-season game but that doesn’t officially count.

Walk Around Central Park.

The best thing about fall are definitely the leaves changing. Last year I barely did this but I want to spend some more time in Central Park. I want to go on a nice long walk (I love walking) and take a moment to myself and enjoy the beautiful leaves. Dana, I’m looking at you. We can do this and brunch (duh!).

Travel Up to Connecticut.

As many of you know, I grew up in Connecticut and now that my parents live in Florida I don’t make it up to Connecticut much. My best friend lives in Stamford so I find myself traveling up there to visit her or if I have commitments to my high school. I want to plan a weekend up to Connecticut and just spend time with my friend and again go on a drive around Connecticut. New England is absolutely beautiful this time of year and unfortunately this beauty doesn’t last forever!

Clean Out My Closet.

Ugh just typing that sucks. I really need to clean out all my summer clothes that I either did not wear this season or older pieces that I just need to donate. I want to find a way to better organize my sweaters and take care of them better. I hate organizing my closets, it just takes so much time but I have to remind myself that I feel so much better once it is done.

Try New CrockPot Recipes.

I love my Crock Pot. I think it is Gods gift to the world. I make a killer white bean chicken chili and that’s really it. I want to find some new recipes to try out. Nothing beats throwing everything in a Crock Pot and smell it cook while watching football! I’m trying so hard to get better at cooking and actually utilize my kitchen. Wish me luck, it is a work in progress.

Volunteer.

I have been so busy at work and with my other commitments that I found myself not volunteering as much as I would like. My friend Kelly and I are volunteering at the marathon in November and I’m excited. This will be my second time volunteering and it is so much fun standing at the 25 mile mark in Central Park handing out water to all the runners. It gives me such joy to live in such a strong community and it gives me motivation to kick my butt and get back into running!

What is on your fall bucket list?
