Elle’s Edit: 5 Things I Couldn’t Live Without in 2019

Can you believe that 2020 is right around the corner?

Seriously. Where did the year go? As we get older time definitely does start to fly by much faster. Like everyone else, I am excited for a fresh start in 2020 and start it off on a high note. As I reflect on 2019, there were 5 things that stood out to me that I really relied on this year, besides my friends and family, that I wanted to share with you all.

Podcasts. I feel like 2019 was the year of the podcast. Am I right? I even went to TWO live shows this year. Who is she? I know. What I love about podcasts is that they can be educational, fun, and just a good distraction. Some of my favorites include the New York Times Daily, Girls Gotta Eat, Bad on Paper, and Skinny Confidential.

Umbrella. I tweeted the other day about this but I swear my umbrella is my most used accessory. How sad is that? In 2018 I went through about 10 different umbrellas because I live right by a wind tunnel and it would just break my umbrella. I got smarter in 2019 and decided to invest in a better umbrella and I’m glad I did considering how often I use this darn thing!

Good sneakers. In March I ran my first half marathon and realized how important it is to have a good pair of sneakers for all occasions. I have a pair of Brooks when it comes to running and a pair of supportive Nikes for walking around the city or doing another type of workout. The key to a pair of great sneakers is having them be supportive and I highly suggest being properly fitted in a running store for a pair of sneakers if you are getting into running or plan on doing a lot of walking. It is a game changer.

Stasher bags. This is a random find but I love Stasher bags. You can find them on Amazon, at Whole Foods, Bed Bath Beyond, Target, you name it. They are these silicone bags where you can basically put anything in them but I have to say they are more designed for food. Instead of using a plastic bag I reach towards this bag when I’m packing carrots, sliced fruit, crackers, you name it! Highly suggest you getting one and since they are Prime you can buy someone one for Christmas and put it in their stocking!

Skincare. Over the past two years I have gotten much better at my skincare routine and actually doing it every single day. I can definitely be better with my nighttime routine (goal for 2020) but in the morning I do a great job. It makes me feel better and makes me more confident in my skin. I still am loyal to my First Aid Beauty moisturizer but have some new favorites from Kiehls, Fresh, and Laneige.

What are your favorite items from 2019?
