How To Dress Up Ripped Denim

Over the last year or so, I’ve become a ripped denim addict. To me, no pair can have too many rips. Although my 94 year old grandmother would argue with me on that statement. She made that VERY clear to me on Thanksgiving day.

THE LOOK | duster, ripped denim (another option here), t-shirt, heels, kate spade bag (similar here and here), sunglasses

No matter how many times my grandma (and other adults) yell at me for my ripped jeans, I’m still going to wear them. I just love them! I know they can definitely be a bit aggressive, but there are ways to easily dress up ripped denim.

For starters, wearing a duster or a blazer might be one of the easier ways to dress up ripped denim. There’s something chic about a long duster blowing in the wind as you walk down the street, no? I thought it complimented my ripped denim so well! It helps give the look a dressier feel and just an “effortless” vibe.

Now we can get real fancy: Throwing on a pair of heels really helps elevate boyfriend jeans. For my short little stumps, they need all the help they can get. I love the way these pointy toe pumps elongate my legs and give me a bit more to work with. And as expected, a dressier effect happens. A good pair of heels definitely makes you feel like you can conquer the world. Add a great pair of ripped denim, and you can do ANYTHING. Now that I’m thinking about it — this is my version of a power outfit;)

PS: I’m also VERY well aware that I need a haircut. MY ENDS ARE HORRIBLE!!!

I am a big fan of the ripped denim as well, I love the visual interest and texture that the distressing adds. It just wouldn’t be as interesting with fresh out the oven jeans! Great shots with the quiet Met in the background too!

I also love ripped denim! Skinny jeans with BIG holes at the knees? So into it! These photos of you are amazing, also!

The gossip girl theme song started playing in my head as I scrolled over the last photo. So Serena right there.
