It’s about that time where my closet officially is in full fall mode. This past weekend I switched over my wardrobe, and in the process I was trying to figure out what exactly my “closet essentials” are for this season.
1. Comfy, oversized sweater
Whether it’s cashmere, wool, or even acrylic, you must have a stack of cozy sweaters to get you through cooler months. This Covington sweater really has been my go-to for the past few weeks. It’s soft and the loose turtleneck adds the perfect amount of warmth without being too restricting.
2. Leather jacket
A few years ago, if you asked me what my thoughts were on leather jackets, I would have said they are definitely not my style. But ever since I began working in the fashion industry, I’ve wanted to “edge” up my look, and leather is the perfect route. I throw this jacket on over pretty much everything I own and it just works. Definitely one of my better purchases this fall
3. Booties
It’s not THAT cold, yet, so I don’t need any extra warmth on my legs (is that even the point of boots….no). Booties have been my go-to since the temperatures dropped below 70. They’re a great addition to skinny jeans, leggings and even dresses. I’m still wearing bare legs, so I love wearing my cool booties with loose fitting dresses for an effortless look.
Although these are considered my “must haves” for fall, I still think everything needs these things in their fall assortment: cashmere accessories, boyfriend jeans, and sleeveless vests/outerwear pieces.
