A Date Night Dress

Ok, I guess it’s been very evident that I love a pop of color. And I guess you could all tell I got a new bag (seen on Instagram a ton).

…but I bet you’re tired of hearing about pops of color (and I think I am too). So instead, let’s chat about this dress and how it came to be mine.

A few Fridays ago, I got up and got dressed for work. I threw this top on with these skinny jeans and added these pumps and headed out the door. Around 3pm, my bosses and I were ready to head out to do our seasonal shopping trip, so naturally, I changed into flats….and then I looked in the mirror. UGH.

I looked like a small child who dressed herself. And not in a cute way.

Normally, I’d be okay with walking around like this…except I had a date later. And I was not about to let him be seen with me looking like a hot mess express.

So naturally, I headed to Banana Republic to see what was going on there. And of course, I wanted all of their new arrivals. But, for once in my life, I decided to be nice to my bank account and headed to the sale rack (plus I needed to be Downtown in like 30 minutes).

Now if you wanna know something about me, it’s that sale racks make me anxious. There’s just way too much going on and I can’t stand the mess (my bad for the dramatics, but it’s true)! Luckily, I walked through the racks for about 5 minutes before I picked up this dress. And maybe this shirt.

10 minutes later, I walked out of Banana Republic wearing this dress and felt SOOOO much better. (First, I had to convince the employees I did, in fact, purchase the dress. #LOL)

So there you have it.

But seriously, isn’t a LBD like a “must” for a date night?
