Another Day, Another Vest

Sometimes the smallest changes in your life make you pretty damn happy.

You may have noticed something a liiiittle different about me: Yep, my hair! A few weeks ago, I was invited to LAICALE hair salon in SoHo to get a service of my choosing. I didn’t want to be boring and just get a haircut (which I happened to need desperately), so I decided to step out of my comfort zone and go for an ombré.

Located on Grand and Crosby St., I walked into the salon and immediately knew I was in for a real treat. Everyone was so friendly and the salon itself was beautiful. It was so chic. I’ve heard how LAICALE has worked with many different runway shows, so I knew I was going to get something good out of this experience.

My stylist was Drew, and I immediately loved him. He was conversational and really took what I wanted done into consideration — I kind of let him choose colors, hair cut style, etc. Once he started blowing out my hair, I knew I was going to LOVE it. And I did. It wasn’t too dramatic, it was exactly what I wanted. I’m so so so happy with the results and I definitely recommend all my NYC friends to go to LAICALE – if you don’t like your new look, it’s on me 😉 THAT’S how confident I am in this place!

On Sunday, I couldn’t wait to show off my new hair. And what a better way to compliment my new look with a new vest? Now now, we all know how much I love a good vest, so this Anthropologie option was a no brainer. The colors are absolutely perfect and I’m thinking about all of the different ways I can wear it this fall/winter (thinking skirts, hats, denim, heels…basically everything).

For those thinking about buying the vest, I’m wearing an XS Petite. I’m usually a Small in everything, but I decided to size down and get the petite version so that I wasn’t completely drowning in it. It’s not snug and it still buttons comfortably. I would recommend sizing down, especially if you’re 5’2 like I am!
