On the days you don’t feel like getting dressed…this is your fool proof look.
80% of the time, you’ll find me wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Even though I have a closet full of clothes, sometimes I just DON’T know what to wear.
how to create the perfect jeans and tee look
Honestly, the t-shirt might be the most important part of the look. Over the years, I’ve become a t-shirt snob, and LOVE finding new ones to add to my rotation. There’s truly nothing better than a crisp, white t-shirt. The Everlane team sent me this t-shirt and I’ve been living in it. It’s a super drapey and light weight cotton, so it’s perfectly breathable. It comes in a couple of other soft colors, so now that my No Shop August is over, I’m DEFINITELY getting a few more. I love that it’s intentionally oversized (so I got my normal size SMALL), so I can cuff the sleeves! I have also purchased two t-shirts from Sezane (see my size guide here), and they are definitely up there on my most favorite t-shirt list! I also love that you can get them personalized (and it doesn’t take 10 years for it to come in the mail)!
Jeans. We love to hate them. We love to live in them. I have over 20 pairs of jeans. Which is to OBVIOUSLY way too many pairs, BUT…I guess now you can call me an expert. I’ve tried pretty much every kind of pair of jeans you could think of: wide leg, cropped wide leg, skinny, boyfriend, straight, ripped, novelty. You name it, I’ve probably tried it. I’m LOVING two pairs from Madewell recently – the Perfect Vintage Wide Leg Crop and Kick Out Crop!
You clearly know I’m a city girl and I do a lot of commuting, walking, etc. I used to think it was easy to walk around in heels because it made my outfit look better. But man, the older I get, the more I realize that is NOT sustainable – especially when you’re trying to run for the train pulling into the station. And we’re definitely in our casual era – so actually I’m ditching the heels. When Everlane sent me their Day Glove flats, I was STOKED. They’re the perfect commuting flat, and they go with everything! I also freakin’ love ballet flats, and they’re probably my most grabbed shoe right now.
I wrote about Little Words Project in this post, but I wanted to share another brand I’m absolutely obsessed with: Sixty Stax! My stax pair perfectly back to my other LWP bracelets. I also am obsessed with Sixty Stax necklaces. They’re perfectly meant for layering, and that’s EXACTLY how I wear them. I usually have two to three on at a time. I was never really into jewelry until I found Sixty Stax, so I HIGHLY recommend these quality pieces. In these photos, I’m wearing the Lux Choker and the Ivy Necklace. To top things off, I added my go to Ray Ban sunglasses for that cool girl finish.
And there you have it! The perfect look when you either don’t know what to wear…or just don’t feel like putting the effort into thinking.
