5 Bad Habits You Need To Break Up With ASAP

Habits. Big or small. We all have them.

Not enough self care time

Last year, I really started taking care of myself – especially my skin. It’s so important to keep yourself first. Even if I KNOW I have to write some blog posts, I make sure I get to SoulCycle, do my skincare routine, and have a cup of tea before bed. I feel significantly more refreshed when I have some quality “me” time.

Comparing yourself to others

So much easier said than done. When you’re in this influencer space, it’s tough not to compare yourself to someone else. Even if you’re not an influencer, you’re probably still finding yourself scrolling through someone’s photos and comparing yourself. Or maybe you’re even comparing yourself to someone at work. Whoever you’re comparing yourself to, just stop.

Hanging with negativity

Honestly, ain’t nobody got time for that. Leave negativity in the dust, please and thank you. If someone around you isn’t bringing you happiness or pushing you to be the best you can be…say bye to them. Especially if you’re being positive for them.

Procrastination

I am the queeeeeeeeeeeen of procrastination. I could be sitting at my desk for hours and find a million things to do OTHER than work. I need to do a much better job at focusing on the task at hand.

The idea that you always have to hustle

Don’t take this as me knocking hustle. Hustle is SUPER important. But it’s not everything. Going back to the first point of not enough self care time, it makes total sense that you need to find some type of balance. Yeah, hustling will get you places, but if you’re hustling day in and day out, it’s going to take a toll on your mental and physical health. I think we live in a society where people are expected to be overworked. But over the last year, I’ve learned that hustle isn’t everything. If I’m busy, I’m busy. If I have deadlines, I meet them. But I don’t think I need to hustle every. minute. of the day.I think our generation is SO caught up in the “oh, I have to hustle and only hustle to succeed”. But what about when your body and mentality is just kind of over it? Definitely something to think about.

So when you think about all of the habits you have in your every day life, I’m sure some of them might not be the best habits. Okay fine, sometimes I eat too much chocolate. But those aren’t the kind of habits I’m talking about. It’s those habits that we aren’t necessarily aware of. But regardless, they’re habits that we need to realize…and break up with ASAP.
