THE LOOK | stripe top c/o, cobalt jacket c/o, skinny jeans, loafers, sunnies (identical)

I’ve finally realized just how important coats and jackets are for your look. Obviously, they serve the purpose (most of the time) of keeping you warm. But sometimes, they really just pull together your look. Today, we’re going to use this cobalt jacket as the model example.

When I was browsing Rent The Runway for a holiday shoot dress (check the post out here), I stumbled upon this cobalt beauty. Typically when I’m shopping for outerwear, I ask myself three questions: 1. Will it keep me warm?, 2. Is it a neutral color?, and 3. Is it in my price range? And usually, I walk out with something like this.  I totally think that every girl needs this kind of outerwear piece in her closet, but let’s be honest: HOW BORING DOES THAT GET?!

Thanks to the ease of Rent The Runway, it was a no brainer to try out this jacket for a few days! I wore it around the West Village during the most perfect Fall day with the prettiest striped top– I love how the pop of cobalt looks with the foliage! (Editor’s Note: NYC does NOT look like this anymore.)

I love my pop of blush on my coat for the same reason. Navy is nice but it just gets so BORING.
